If you’re on the search for the best ways to cook carrots as a side dish, these Sweet Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots should definitely be on your list! My mom made these carrots when I was growing up, and they’re probably the reason I never turned my nose up at carrots. They are simple to make but add lots of flavor to any meal. And when it comes to side dishes, I’m all about easy. We all need easy sides in our recipe arsenal. Let’s jump right in!

How to Make Glazed Carrots with Brown Sugar

1. Peel carrots and cut into strips. (You could also just use baby carrots but they may need to cook a little longer.)

2. Add oil to a large skillet and sauté carrots over medium high heat for 3-4 minutes.

3. Add brown sugar, salt, and water over the carrots and cover. Lower the heat to low and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

4. Take the lid off and continue cooking until water evaporates.

See how easy that is?

What To Serve with Glazed Carrots

Glazed carrots can be served with most any meal. Think roast beef, pork tenderloin, grilled chicken — brown sugar glazed carrots can go with any simple meat dish or casserole.

Can Glazed Carrots Be Made Ahead?

These carrots are best made fresh, but you can make them ahead. Just reheat them in the microwave or in a skillet. If you want to make glazed carrots for a crowd, you could make a few batches of these and then reheat them when it’s time to serve dinner.

These carrots are a great easy side dish that complement many types of meals — try them for your next dinner party! Let me know if you make these in the comments below!
