  • 5 cups cubed day-old bread
  • 1 lb. ground breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 3/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 5 tsp. fresh sage, chopped (or 2 1/2 tsp. dried)
  • 4 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 1/2 dried)
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped (or 1/2 tsp. dried)
  • 1 Golden Delicious apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 1/2-2 cups chicken broth
  • 4 Tbs. butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9x13 dish.

  2. Brown sausage and onions in a large skillet over medium high heat until meat is well-browned and onions are translucent. Add celery and herbs and saute for 2 minutes.

  3. Combine all ingredients except chicken broth and butter in a large bowl. Stir well. Drizzle chicken broth and butter over the mixture and gently mix.
